How to Keep your Kitchen Clutter-Free

Your kitchen is a focal point of your home and a place where everyone gathers, so it’s crucial to keep the space clean. We understand it can be tricky to keep everything organized. That’s why we’re here to give you some quick and easy tips on how to keep your kitchen mess-free!

1. Minimize the appliances on your counter—only keep out the essentials

Storing appliances on your counter makes the kitchen area look cluttered. When your counters have more clutter, you’re also more likely to leave other items there. Try and limit the number of appliances on your counter (maybe your coffee pot and toaster) and store the rest in your cupboards and cabinets. This will keep your space looking clean and tidy throughout the day.

2. Keep a designated spot for all papers, mail and miscellaneous items

A stack of papers such as flyers, mail, takeout menus, and business cards can easily pile up in the kitchen. Have a basket or wall file organizer in your pantry where you can store papers that need to be accessed in the future. At the end of each week, throw out the flyers and mail you don’t need to avoid the clutter!

3. Place all dirty dishes and cutlery in the dishwasher immediately after use

We’re all guilty of this sometimes—leaving dirty dishes and glasses on our kitchen counter. Try to wash them immediately after each use or place them in the dishwasher right away instead of stacking them all up on the counter or sink.

4. Soak pots and pans while you eat

The thought of scrubbing pots and pans is often daunting, so we understand why so many people put it off. Make a habit of letting your pots and pans soak in soapy, warm water while having dinner. By the time you’re finished, they’ll be much easier to scrub clean!

5. Create a routine

To keep your kitchen clutter free, you need to make tidiness and cleanliness a priority. Reset your kitchen every evening before calling it a night. Make sure everything is placed where it belongs, flyers and papers are stored away, and everything is cleared off the counters. By having a solid routine, you are setting yourself up for success the next day!
